Explainable AI: Explanations for Recommender Systems An explanation in recommender systems can be defined as a visual and trustful explanation that is combined with recommendations given to users. The recent recommender systems are mainly developed in two directions: wider application domains and various recommendation algorithms. Over the last years, different application domains have appeared such as food recommender systems or travel recommender systems. Moreover, new algorithms such as machine learning, deep learning and neural network have been applied in recommender systems. This project aims to (1) fully understand the predictive analytics for recommendations, (2) reason the given recommendations by the new type of explanations, (3) develop explanation algorithms for recommendations, and (4) design effective GUI for recommender system explanations.
